The SemioLab's Media Semiotics Research Group of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki announces the second in a row seminar, under the title ''Breaking the 4th wall across media''. The seminar will be online on Wednesday 3rd of May, 2023, from 17.00 to 21.00 (Greek time zone).
Although the notion of Breaking the fourth wall was initially a narrative and dramaturgic element in the theatrical field, it has gradually applied to several media, including television, cinema, and
video games. This online seminar seeks to reconsider, reassess and (un) break the fourth wall as a key feature implemented, saturated, and re-established in several media.
This seminar will provide a formative environment encouraging open discussion about the diachronic framework of the fourth wall and its extensions.
